Time goes by and new technologies allow the book to reach a greater number of readers", she said.

She said that is great thing that her books translated into English now can read people in China, Los Angeles, Australia etc.

Hajbanović Djurovic, as a good example of the benefits of e-books, recounted anecdotes from her summer vacation from a few years ago, when almost half of the guests in hotel had read books on a tablet, while she brought five books on a vacation.

"Now compare weight of 250 grams of tablet with weight of five books. Not to mention that my library at home becomes increasingly tight", she said.

Books by Habjanović Djurovic have been translated into 14 languages, including Russian, where recently appeared pirated copy of "Petkana" to what she says, is very proud.

"I am grateful to the Russian hacker who thought that "Petkana" deserves the effort to put it on torrent", she said, adding that "pirated" edition of her book is proof of her popularity in a huge country like Russia.

From NLE state that e-books by Habjanović Djurovic are most wanted in Australia, North America and Scandinavia.

On a comment of the easier illegal copying of the books, Hajbanović Djurovic said that in a country where there are serious problems, illegal copying of the several titles is not much of a problem, while Zlatko Ahmić from NLE said that there are illegal editions in Serbia but, less.

Translator of the novel Ivan Čarota, chief of the Department of Slavic Languages at the University of Minsk and foreign correspondent for the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, presenting novel and the author of the novel Petkana wrote: "Such a broad recognition of the writers in their homeland is certainly not accidental or temporary depending on the criteria and variables. Thing is that Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic, thematically and substantively connects her works with the eternal and unchanging - she strives and invites her readers to move together to meet the Holy Spirit. Important and significant is the fact that the Serbs in the twentieth century, thanks mainly to the works of St. Bishop Nikolaj (Velimirović) and Venerable Justin (Popovic), not only preserved, but also developed a very fruitful tradition of spiritual literature, which is intended for a wide range of readers. Continuing in the same direction, keeping the offense of the Saints as the role model, with it seriously taking into consideration the needs of their contemporaries, especially the younger generation, Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic has found her original paradigm of creativity. Addition, she found very effective and effective creative process - sort of a "Choir", which is a polyphony of expressed opinions and different points of view, and as result catholic opinion: «aksios, aksios, aksios»! Work by respected Serbian colleague can be a role model for Byelorussian writers who are trying to do something similar."

This is the sixth translatoin of the novel Petkana. The book has been published so far in Macedonian (2 editions), Romanian (6 editions), Bulgaria (2 editions), Russian (3 editions), and in April in the Greek language.

In the preface to the novel "Venerable Mother Paraskeva - cross in the desert," Mr. Ivan Charota wrote:
"The wide recognition of this writer is certainly not accidental or temporary, depending on the variable criterias. The thing is, that Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic her work thematically and substantively connects just with the eternal and unchangeable – she herself seeks and invites her readers to move  together to meet the Holy Spirit. Here, we have an important significance in the fact that in Serbia, during the XX century, thanks to the works of St. Bishop Nikolaj (Velimirovic), Venerable Justin (Popovic) and their students, the tradition of spiritual literature was  not only preserved but also a very fruitfuly developed, intended to a wide range of readers. Continuing in the same direction, keeping the work of the holy predecessors as a model, and also seriously considering the needs of her  contemporaries, especially the younger generations, Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic has found out , as they say, her paradigm of creativity.
With Mrs. Ljiljana, unlike most similar attempts here, you can not find neither desacralization, caused by  creating fictions, nor a profanity.Beside, she found a very efficient and effective process of creativity - a sort of "Choir", which represents the polyphony of views and opinions expressed, and as a result of such a conciliar thinking: "aksios, aksios, aksios"!

SHE, BELOVED BY ANGELS

(Preface for the Italian edition of the novel “ Game of the Angels”)

Before I do say something about the novel “ Game of the Angels”, it will be my pleasure to introduce to the reader the author, "most beloved" writer in Serbia, widely read and most awarded, but not only in her country, Mrs. Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic, because she will provide him with strong emotions, strange thoughts, deep inner turmoil, which will accompany him on a remarkable journey through the pages of this book. I refer to the individual reader, because each story is born from the pen of the writer, but it is reborn in the spirit and the heart of one who reads, getting different meanings and values as it passes through the filter of emotions, culture and life story of all of us. Marcel Proust said: "Every reader, when reading, read by himself. Work of a writer is just an optical instrument which he offers to the reader to allow him to observe what, without a book, he may not see in himself. "And in this book, any reader can actually discover and reveal himsef, because the author has a significant driving force in the direction of detecting the humanity. And it's humanity that every single person looks again, one way or another, different and multiple grinding along the course of an existential experience of each of us.
Ljiljana Habjanovic Djurovic enchants especially by her style of writing which tells the story in her own way, through a succession of often lengthy and well-articulated sentences, but more often over a very short, minimal sentences, often made by only one word that runs almost continuously stalled, which is a refinement of thoughts, statuses, encounters and conflicts between the main character and many other characters, who are often other main characters in the events of her life. So, almost always in fractions, but just because a very original, suggestive, enchaine, impressively: "Roses! Roses! Roses! (...) Pink. Red. And those in color alike of marigolds ... "One single word tells often unsaid, unexplained, and indeed the silence, the state of the soul, enlightenment. Short or very short sentence is more impresive because it is stingy and essential, so it is deeper and more comprehensive than the broad clauses that could dilute the intent and emotion or the story itself. Content that has the characteristics of the novel mixed with history and imagination, worthy of Manconi time, as well as additional contemporary literary meaning, in which it is popular mix of various branches merged in the new art of storytelling, full of broad suggestiveness. This is the story about Milica, Serbian Princess from the fourteenth century AD, which comes from the sacred dynasty of Nemanjic, which had a major role in the medieval Serbian kingdom, and the supernatural action of the angels, and above all, of the Guardian Angel. It was narrated by the Guardian Angel of Milica, and this is another special feature of the novel. But next to him, seven Archangels are living and participating for the more detailed clarification of the human and the king's life of the main character, especially in the tasks of the angelic hierarchy. Each seven of them has its own "window" to look through it at the world of people and the world between Heaven and God, to discuss human events and the will of God. These seven storytelling voices, form in this book distant and yet close resonance. It is a some kind of Greek chorus, that is in the background of the story, but is present at the scene in an enlightening way, in terms of our earthly transience and unfathomable God's intentions, giving a much deeper meaning to a life and death, than what one usually does.
It is, therefore, a novel with religious and ancient taste that spreads in the epic narrative breath of the hierarchically ordered world, in the human and God's level, the earthly and transient values, and the supernatural and eternal values. The story of emotions and torments of the people, in the ongoing battle between good and evil, and in the eternal present of our birth, life and death, it seems apparent transience of human power and immense imperishability of God's power. So, it is not possible to read “Game of the Angels” not to be captured from the first to the very last page, by development of this compelling story that the author presents with an outstanding "sapientia cordis” or “ wisdom of the heart”, and unusual literary skill. Two parallel worlds, one visible and real, the other invisible and imaginary, but it is equally true in spirit and heart of the writer, that touch and overlap each other. In the novel it is possible, first of all, to read the writer's deep love for her country, ie Serbia. But also for Krusevac, birthptown. Love for Belgrade, the new beautiful capital. And for Kosovo, for which she provides one of the most touching and most authentic historical review. On those pages, there are some types of marital love anthems (the briliant pages to describe almost forty years of married life of Milica and Lazarus), love and pain for the children and the country. It is a hymn of love for all created and the Creator. Anthem of faith. All this is due to the strong spirituality of the author, her deep human and religious sensibility, her belief in the Virgin, the Christ and Saint Petka, a great and beloved saint of the Orthodox Church. Here we find the great closeness between the Orthodox Christian religion , followed with a fervor by the author, and the Catholic Christianity, where we belong.
All the characters are as sculptured. Brilliantly described in all physical and psychological details, in their behavior, their role in the dramatic upheavals or salvation within the Serbian court, with more or less martyr complicity of the Church.
But, writer`s extraordinary literary skill can be revealed and observed primarily in her ability to penetrate deep into the hearts of men and to describe, in the inevitable existential collision, their pain, conflicts, thoughts, desires and self-denial, rejection and delays, plans and disappointment or achievements, memories and desires for the future, doubts and futile search for the truth and the encounter with the truth. To describe the rebellion against God's will and acceptance of their own destiny, which He has foreordained in the mosaic of life, that is incomprehensible to any human being, always in limbo, in search for truth between the free beliefs and destiny, as long as does not exceed the "wall of darkness." In a extremely sensitive method, after all, is given an accurate description of the spirit and interaction, often painful and destabilizing, which are established within the family constellation in the Serbian court, by the position that children have upon gender, birth order, accept or refuse the mother, according to a prescribed role, as previously determined by the need to be born male child in order to ensure the continuation of the dynasty. It is painful rivalry between two brothers: Stephen, the first-born and heir to the throne, and Vuk. The author describes all this in an amazing way, creating from her novel an embroiding narrative history, in which historical figures live, with their ambitions, desires, illusions, with victories and defeats, with the entire baggage of their life experience, mainly characterized by their mistakes and regrets, the shoreline and nostalgia, the painful representation of the humanity, incapable to live out its time in the fullness of the present, always facing the past or the future, which determines its own downfall and its own misfortunes. Fictional characters are often incorporeal, like the angels and archangels, or mysterious, as a "man of oak," which sent the Lord. There is the airy, yet the real atmosphere, full of uncertainty or clarity in the sequence of events that take place chronologically, epic, and yet, everyday, which define the boundaries of many truths and stifling search for the truth ...
Hence, ther`s many Milica`s questions ... and the questions of the whole miserable humanity. These are questions to which there is no answer ... especially if someone is a woman ... if she need be to sacrifice from her feelings for the "public reasons" ... If someone is very smart and feel the need for so many questions: "She wondered why the man was not aware of his happiness while it lasts. Or, at least, why he does not feel it as clear as it feels the pain. Why as the biggest he name that one already finished. And what is happiness anyway? A series of pleasant moments? Small joy? Finding herself present in the memory? The peace that reigned in the church after the service, and she sank into a prayer? (...) Cup of honey and wild berry bowl, a gift from the serfs from Upper Nerodimlje?"
There are few certainties. "This constant alternation of good and bad. - Says Milica. - Mixing of happiness and unhappiness. Joy, fear, sadness, victories, and pain."
This is probably a novel of pain, of mental suffering that fear and pain, but the novel of salvation by God's grace and, perhaps, guardian angels who lead, help in the choices and protect from the forces of evil: "So many things happen outside of our will. Even in spite of it. But define our lives. Divide it. For instance, some births and some deaths. Some diseases and some wars. Some loves. Some others determinations. What we have never ever chosen (...) Pain. Defeat. Humiliation. Fear ...."
Yet, in the end good wins. And everything is connected in the har,pny of the Unity: "Do you remain grateful, or at least tolerant. Persistent in your prayers ... " The novel is a hymn to the prayer. Prayer redeem us and save. It happened to Milici, Princess, which has received all of God's gifts, except the gift to think about herself: too smart to give up the throne, just as she gave up her opinions, her dreams, her desires, her contradictions (which often happens to smart women) .. It happened to Lazarus, the martyr, because of the large and strong faith, endured in a full commitment to God's will. It happened and Stefan ... and all those who still try to win despair of very difficult time, as it is our own, this time of the sunset of mankind.
Exactly here is the importance of this novel. It should be read and "eat" as "our daily bread", in order to try to be better.
